Meet Akim Ly, Founder of Adventures Cambodia

Akim Ly’s journey begins in the heart of Angkor Wat, where she grew up under extraordinary circumstances. Born during the tumultuous Pol Pot era, Akim was raised within the temple complex, educated by monks, and living a life that few others experienced. To stay within the pagoda, she even disguised herself as a boy to gain access to education from the monks. Her connection to Cambodia’s rich history and culture, shaped by these early experiences, is the foundation of Adventures Cambodia today.
