Three Days Angkor & Siem Reap by Electric Bike

A sunrise, the secret trails, and a day in the countryside.

Three private days on a Giant e-bike, each a different side of Siem Reap. The first starts in the dark, inside Angkor Wat for sunrise, then out through the gates before the coaches arrive. The second drops onto single-lane jungle trails behind the temples, the paths most visitors never find. The third leaves the park for rice fields, a village pagoda and lunch under the palms. You do the pedalling. The assist takes the hills and the heat.

Why book the three-day combo

Three rides, three different Siem Reaps

  • Three days, never the same twice. Day one is Angkor Wat at sunrise and the inner temples. Day two is the jungle single-track behind the park. Day three is the countryside, with rice fields and a village pagoda.
  • A sunrise start, then two unhurried days. Day one begins at 4:45 AM for the light. On days two and three you pick your own start between 7 and 9 AM.
  • Giant e-bikes all three days. You ride, the assist takes the hills. No cycling gear needed. European-standard helmet provided, sized to fit.
  • Breakfast by the moat, then a Khmer lunch out of town. A breakfast picnic after sunrise on day one, a forest lunch on day two, a farm picnic in the rice fields on day three.
Day 1 · Angkor Sunrise · E-bike

Angkor Wat at first light, then the inner temples

Inside Angkor Wat before the coaches, breakfast by the moat, then the morning temples and a monk's blessing by e-bike.

  • Start 4:45 AM
  • Breakfast picnic by the moat
  • Tuk-tuk pickup, then e-bike
  • Free afternoon
Pre-dawn · Tuk-tuk to Angkor Wat
4:45 AMTuk-tuk pickup at your hotel. We ride in the dark by tuk-tuk, not by bike, the road is shared with traffic and there is nothing to see.
~5:15 AMInside Angkor Wat, ahead of the coach groups still in the ticket queue. Your guide walks you to a quieter sunrise spot than the postcard pond.
Sunrise + temple visit · ~2 hours inside Angkor Wat
~5:30 AMSunrise. The sky turns, the towers fill out, mist sits on the moat. The exact time shifts with the season; your guide knows the spot for the day.
6:00–7:30 AMAngkor Wat properly, at least 90 minutes inside: the bas-reliefs of the outer gallery, the second level, the climb to the Bakan if it is open, time at the central towers as the light moves across the sandstone.
~7:30 AMOut the eastern gate to your e-bikes. Breakfast picnic by the moat behind Angkor Wat, trees overhead, water beside you.
Morning ride · Angkor Thom, a blessing, Ta Prohm
~8:15 AMForest trail to Bayon. The faces read better in morning light, and the corridors are mostly yours at this hour.
~9:15 AMVat Tep Pranam, a working pagoda inside Angkor Thom, for a quiet blessing from the monks. A water blessing if you prefer.
~10:30 AMJungle path to Ta Prohm, the strangler-fig temple. By now the morning groups are leaving and you have time at the iconic walls.
~12 noonBack at your hotel. The afternoon is yours.
Temples on Day 1
  • Angkor Wat
  • Bayon
  • Vat Tep Pranam
  • Ta Prohm

This is your private tour. Your guide reads your pace and adapts as the morning unfolds: longer at the temples that move you, a shorter stop at the ones that don't, or a swap when it feels right. The day moves in one direction, never doubling back.

Day 2 · Secret Trails · E-bike

The jungle single-track behind the temples

Off the temple roads entirely, onto single-lane jungle trails to Preah Khan, with a sit-down lunch in the forest.

  • Start 7-9 AM
  • Sit-down forest lunch
  • Hotel pickup
  • About 7 hours
Morning · Into the jungle behind Angkor Wat
7-9 AMHotel pickup in Siem Reap. Bikes arrive with your guide. Safety briefing and fit check.
Mid-morningThe East Moat of Angkor Wat, then a single-lane jungle path behind the temple. Out through Ta Kav Gate, the west gate of Angkor Thom.
Midday · The wall and Preah Khan
~11 AMAlong the Angkor Thom wall past Baphuon and Preah Palilay, then on to Preah Khan, reached from the forest side instead of the bus gate.
~12:30 PMForest lunch, a sit-down Khmer meal in the trees.
Afternoon · Banteay Kdei and the villages
~2 PMBanteay Kdei, quieter in the afternoon.
2-4 PMBack to your hotel through the villages, roughly seven hours after you set out.
Stops on Day 2
  • Angkor East Moat
  • Ta Kav Gate
  • Angkor Thom Wall
  • Preah Khan
  • Banteay Kdei

This is your private tour. Your guide rides in front to show the line and reads your pace as the day unfolds, longer where it is worth it, an easier line where you want one. The day shapes itself around you.

Day 3 · Countryside · E-bike

Rice fields, a village pagoda, lunch under the palms

The temples behind you. A slow day through farms and villages, with a pagoda blessing and a farm picnic in the rice fields.

  • Start 7-9 AM
  • Farm picnic lunch
  • Hotel pickup
  • Finish ~2 PM
Morning · Farms and the market
7-9 AMHotel pickup. Out of town on quiet lanes to a local farm, then a traditional pharmacy where the village still buys its remedies.
Mid-morningThe local market, where the day's cooking is bought, then the water-hyacinth handicraft house.
Midday · A pagoda blessing and the farm picnic
~11:30 AMA village pagoda, with a Buddhist blessing from the monks.
~12:30 PMA private farm picnic lunch, set out in the rice fields. Khmer dishes with a drink.
Afternoon · The sticky-rice family
~1 PMThe family who make sticky rice in bamboo, and a little time with them before the ride home.
~2 PMBack at your hotel.
Stops on Day 3
  • Local farm
  • Traditional pharmacy
  • Local market
  • Water-hyacinth house
  • Village pagoda
  • Farm picnic
  • Sticky-rice family

This is your private day. Your guide sets the pace to your group, and the stops stretch or shorten as the day asks. Nothing here is rushed.

The magic moment · Day 1

The hour after sunrise, when the temple empties

The hour the coaches drive away.

The sky is still pink when the coach groups file back to their buses for breakfast. You walk the other way, deeper into Angkor Wat, through galleries that empty out in front of you. By the time you reach the eastern gate the temple is mostly yours, and your e-bike is leaning against a tree. Breakfast is ten minutes away, by the moat with the trees overhead.

Day one's quiet hour sets the tone. The jungle single-track comes on day two, the rice fields and a pagoda blessing on day three.

Visited Angkor for the first time on electric mountain bikes! Went to hidden spots and saw amazing temples you wouldn’t find by van, car or tuktuk. A bike tour through the jungle to witness the least popular but incredibly unique temples, with several stops to enjoy coconut and spot some wild animals along the way, what more can you ask for? Highly recommend!

When most people think about visiting Angkor, they imagine crowds and busy temple entrances. But experiencing Angkor on a bike completely changes the story. An Angkor bike tour takes you beyond the main roads and into quiet jungle trails, hidden paths, and peaceful corners that many visitors never get to see — creating a far more personal and authentic connection with this incredible destination. PLENTY OF Instagrammable picture perfect spots For those who prefer comfort without losing the spirit of adventure, an Angkor e-bike tour is the perfect balance. Effortless riding, premium experience, and the freedom to explore deeper into the temples make it ideal for travelers who want something truly special rather than a standard tour. What truly makes the difference, however, is the people behind the experience. With Akim guiding the journey, every detail was seamless — from timing and route selection to local insights and storytelling. The entire day felt exclusive, well-curated, and genuinely memorable. If you’re looking for more than just sightseeing — and want to experience Angkor in a unique, immersive, and comfortable way — this is absolutely the way to do it.

Questions, answered

FAQ

Ask on WhatsApp
Do I need to be fit for three days of riding?

No special fitness needed. The bikes are electric, so the pedal-assist handles the climbs for you on all three days. If you can ride a regular bicycle, you can ride these. The pace is set by you, not by us, and your guide reads your group and adapts each day around it.

How hard are the trails? Are they technical?

All three days are forest tracks, quiet lanes and hard-packed paths, not technical mountain biking. No steep climbs, no rocky descents. Your guide rides in front to show the line and keep the pace comfortable. If a section feels harder than you expected, we slow down or take an easier line.

Which Angkor Pass do I need?

A 3-day pass ($62) covers the two temple days, Day 1 and Day 2. It is valid for any 3 days within a 10-day window, so it works even if your two temple days are not back-to-back. Day 3 is countryside, outside the park, and needs no pass. We recommend buying online at angkorenterprise.gov.kh rather than at the gate. The pass is not included in the tour price.

Do the three days run back-to-back, or can I space them out?

Either works. Most guests ride the three days back-to-back, but you can space them out however suits you, a rest day or two in between, or further apart. Tell us your preferred dates when you book and we will set it up.

What time does each day start?

Day 1 is a sunrise day, with a 4:45 AM tuk-tuk pickup. On Days 2 and 3 you pick any start time between 7 and 9 AM, and you are usually back at your hotel by early-to-mid afternoon.

How many people will be on the tour?

This is a private tour, so it's just your group on all three days. Single-guide capacity is about 6 riders. Larger groups can be accommodated with additional guides. Message us to confirm.

Can kids join?

Children need to be at least 110 cm tall to ride their own e-bike. Because these are full days, including an early sunrise start, it isn't the right trip for very young children.

What if it rains?

The tour runs in the rain. Siem Reap rain usually comes in short afternoon bursts, the forest canopy covers most of the route, and we carry ponchos.

What languages can the guide speak?

English is the default. French, Spanish, Italian, and German are available on request, for a supplement to cover the specialist guide.

What's the cancellation policy?
  • 14+ days before: full refund
  • Less than 14 days before: 50% refund
  • Less than 5 days before, or no-show: no refund
Behind Adventures Cambodia

Akim Ly

Akim Ly, founder of Adventures Cambodia, by the Angkor Wat moat

I grew up inside the walls of Angkor Wat, in the pagoda where my grandfather, Loung Sake, served as Grand Abbot. The pagoda still stands today, just inside the enclosure.

Girls weren't allowed to sleep in the monastery, so I shaved my head and dressed as a boy to stay close to him. He taught me Sanskrit on palm leaves.

Adventures Cambodia started in 2013. Every tour is private and led by a local.
