Angkor Wat:

Angkor Wat, a marvel of Khmer architecture, is the world’s largest religious monument and a testament to the grandeur of the Khmer Empire. This iconic temple complex, built in the 12th century, covers an area of 162.6 hectares and is known for its stunning architecture and intricate bas-reliefs. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu and later transformed into a Buddhist site.

Angkor Wat is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and its five distinctive towers are said to represent the five peaks of Mount Meru, the mythical home of the gods. The temple is a highlight of our Angkor Wat tour with guide, a premium tour with meal included, and an Angkor Wat history tour with an expert guide.

Bayon and Angkor Thom:

Angkor Thom, the ancient royal city, stands as a testament to the Khmer empire’s grandeur. Established in the late 12th century, this walled city served as the capital under King Jayavarman VII. The South Gate of Angkor Thom is flanked by serene stone faces, each representing the all-seeing Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara.

The heart of Angkor Thom is Bayon Temple, renowned for its iconic stone faces that gaze in all four cardinal directions. It’s believed that these faces represent various interpretations, from the king himself to divine beings. The Terrace of the Elephants, a platform adorned with intricate bas-reliefs, was once used for royal processions. Another fascinating structure is the Khmoth Gate, also known as the Death Gate, with its mysterious history. Explore Angkor Thom on our Angkor tour and Angkor Thom history tour.

Ta Prohm:

Ta Prohm, an enchanting temple within the Angkor complex, offers a unique blend of history and nature’s reclaiming power. Built in the late 12th century, this temple was dedicated to the Buddhist deity Prajnaparamita. What sets Ta Prohm apart are the massive silk-cotton trees and strangler figs that have enveloped the temple’s structures over centuries.

The harmonious yet dramatically integrated blend of nature and architecture has made Ta Prohm a favorite among visitors. The temple’s stunning stone carvings and reliefs offer a glimpse into ancient Khmer artistry. Ta Prohm stands out as a highlight of our Angkor Wat premium tour, an Angkor Wat tour that includes photography, and an Angkor Wat history tour guided by an expert.
