This trip is built around light. It opens in the dark, 4:45 AM in your own Jeep or Vespa, so that you are standing at Angkor Wat when the towers come out of the night, and it is finished by noon. Day two takes the Grand Circuit through the quiet northern forest, done by about 2:30 PM. Day three belongs to you until early afternoon, when the Jeep runs out to the Tonlé Sap: a village on stilts, a boat of your own through the middle of it, and the same sun you watched rise over the temples going down over open water.
Into the park in the dark, the sunrise by the north pond, then breakfast, then Bayon and Ta Prohm before the day gets hot.
Day one is breakfast only, with no lunch stop, because it finishes at noon. Most guests sleep in the afternoon, and they are right to.

The Angkor Wat sunrise is the most photographed twenty minutes in Cambodia and most people experience it in a crowd of several hundred, having arrived on a bus at a time somebody else chose. Going in your own vehicle, with a guide who knows which side of the northern pond is worth standing on, is a different morning entirely.
Three days later you are on a boat at the other end of the day, an hour out of town, watching the same sun go the other way over open water with a drink in your hand and nothing to do. Nobody photographs that one for Instagram. It is usually the one people remember.

Als je de tempels wilt bezoeken via het Angkor-bos, is dit het beste idee om er met een Vespa in te sluipen! En je kunt nog steeds genieten van de zonsondergang en veilig blijven dankzij de gids. We hebben er erg van genoten! Bedankt!
Angkor VIP-stijl. Heerlijke dag in het gezelschap van Benedict die ons van de gebaande paden nam, om de schat van Angkor te ontdekken, weg van de drukte van toeristen. Vertrek vanuit ons huis in een vintage jeep. Verfrissende doekjes geparfumeerd met jasmijnwater. Tempels, zowel prachtig als geïsoleerd. Kleine paadjes in de jungle. Achterdeuren. Een paar mysteries onthuld dankzij zijn gedetailleerde kennis van de locaties en hun geschiedenis. Uitstekende lunch thuis. Een onmisbare en niet te missen uitstap.
Fantastische dag uit Echt een fantastische tour op de Vespa's - heel erg bedankt aan onze drie gidsen die ons een veilig gevoel gaven en heel goed voor ons zorgden. Ze namen ons mee om de mijnenzoekende ratten te bekijken (schitterend bezoek) wat onverwacht was, en het meer en de lunch. Echt een super dag uit.
Siem Reap Vespa Onze Vespagids was fantastisch. Zijn Engels was uitstekend. Hij had veel kennis over de stad en de cultuur. Hij beantwoordde alle vragen, inclusief restaurant aanbevelingen voor andere bezienswaardigheden in het land, en beantwoordde zelfs een paar vragen over Angkor Wat die we waren vergeten te stellen. Onze chauffeurs reden voorzichtig. We deden ook een Vespatour van dezelfde hoge kwaliteit in Hanoi.
Geweldige reis en het personeel is een A+++. Geweldige ervaring om allerlei soorten eten te proberen en het personeel is geweldig. Ze rijden heel veilig and hebben ook veel plezier. Het dagelijks leven van de Cambodjaanse bevolking. We konden veel meekrijgen van het dagelijks leven van de Cambodjaanse bevolking. In het warme weer was dit vervoermiddel erg prettig. Al onze vragen zijn beantwoord. We zullen deze reis op de Vespa niet vergeten.
Nog een blik op Siem Reap. Tour uit Siem Reap op een Vespa gaf ons een heel ander beeld van de stad. De eetstraat was geweldig! En onze dochter zong heel goed bij de karaoke! Het hele gezin heeft genoten van deze reis
Yes, and once. It is the single most-wanted experience in Siem Reap and the light on the towers reflected in the northern pond is genuinely worth the alarm. What ruins it for most people is the delivery: a shared bus on a fixed departure, several hundred people, and a boxed breakfast in a car park afterwards.
You go in your own vehicle at a time we set with you, your guide picks the spot, and once the light is up you stop for a proper breakfast before the morning temples.
Bij onze $365-driedaagse tour brengen we alle drie de dagen door in de tempels. Bij deze tour brengen we er twee door en besteden we de laatste dag aan het meer, zodat de reis bij zonsondergang op een boot eindigt in plaats van met een derde rondje. In vergelijking met onze tweedaagse zonsopgangcombinatie is dit simpelweg diezelfde reis, maar dan met een dag aan het meer aan het einde.
Nee. Je wordt opgehaald met je Jeep of Vespa, hetzelfde voertuig dat je de rest van de dag gebruikt. Beide zijn goedgekeurd voor de openbare weg en voorzien van de juiste koplampen, dus je hoeft voor het stuk in het donker niet over te stappen op een ander voertuig. Tuk-tuks worden alleen gebruikt voor de ophaling vóór zonsopgang bij onze e-bike-zonsopgangtocht tour, omdat fietsen in het donker daar niet veilig zou zijn.
Ja. Zodra het licht is stoppen we voor een fatsoenlijk ontbijt voordat we doorgaan naar Bayon en Ta Prohm, en dat is na een start om 4:45 uur wel welkom. Waar we stoppen hangt af van de dag en waar u verblijft, dus laat dat maar over aan uw gids.
No, and there does not need to be. Day one finishes around noon, so it runs on breakfast and drinks and you eat lunch wherever you want once you are back. Day two includes lunch by Srah Srang. Day three begins after lunch and has snacks on the boat.
The 3-day pass, $62 per person, bought online in advance at angkorenterprise.gov.kh rather than queued for at the office. There is no 2-day pass, so this is the pass any two-day temple visit needs anyway. Days 1 and 2 use it; the lake needs none, so the pass's third day stays spare and valid all week, good for one more temple on a free morning. Children under 12 enter free with a passport.
No. The pass is valid on any three days inside a 7-day window and the lake day needs no pass at all, so we can space the itinerary around whatever else you have booked.
Kampong Phluk, about an hour from Siem Reap, not Chong Kneas. Chong Kneas is the closest to town and the one with the documented problems: boats diverting to overpriced floating restaurants, pressured donations, and years of poor reviews to show for it. We go out on a private boat belonging to one of the Kampong Phluk families rather than on a shared twenty-seater.
The village looks completely different, and it is worth seeing either way. High water means boats mooring where people's front steps end and the mangrove reachable by paddled boat. Low water means the same houses standing clear on stilts you could park a car under, a longer approach over dry ground, and usually no mangrove trip. Yes, though think about the 4:45 AM start before you book it for young ones. Ages 4 to 12 get 30% off, which brings it to $206.50, and under-4s go free. Children under 12 also enter the park free with a passport. If the pre-dawn start is the problem, the same three days without the sunrise is our other option and it costs less.
