Most two-day Angkor trips give you temples and more temples. This one breaks the pattern after lunch on the first day. You take Angkor Wat, Bayon and Ta Prohm in the cool of the morning, rest through the heat, then head back out at six for a night of street food, rice wine and a Khmer dinner with live music. Day two leaves the park behind entirely: an hour north by vintage Jeep to Banteay Srei, the pink sandstone temple with the finest carving in Cambodia, then back slowly through the villages making rice noodles and incense.
We would rather you read this here than work it out at six o'clock on the first evening.
The Angkor Wat morning on day one and the whole of the Banteay Srei day are yours alone. Your own guide, your own driver, your own vehicle, and you pick the start time between 7 and 9 AM on both.
The After Dark Food Tour is a small-group evening. Pickup is fixed at 6 PM, the ride is by Vespa, and the guiding is in English. You will be eating with up to five other travellers.
Want the evening to yourself as well? The private food tour runs $89 a head instead of $68, lets you start any time between 5 and 7 PM, and you choose Vespa or Jeep. Tell us when you book and we will price it up.

The morning is private, just your group, and your guide sets the pace. The evening is the small-group food tour, so you share it with up to five other travellers on a fixed 6 PM pickup. Vegetarian works at dinner; vegan does not, because the menu is built on fish, pork and egg. Say so when you book and we will be straight with you.
A full day out of the park: the finest carving in Cambodia, a monk blessing, and enough hands-on village stops that you come back having made something.
Honest note: day one is long. Temples from early morning until half past two, then out again from six until ten. The gap in between is yours and you should use it. If that sounds like too much, move the food tour to day two evening and we will rearrange.

Day two opens somewhere most itineraries would put a temple. You sit on a mat in front of a monk who has been up since four, and he chants over you and flicks water until your shirt is soaked through. Nobody explains it beforehand and nobody sells it afterwards. Then a thread goes on your wrist, and you keep it until it falls off on its own, which is usually somewhere over the Pacific three weeks later.
The ceremony is real. The pagoda is a working one, and you are a guest in it rather than an audience.

Si vous voulez visiter les temples à travers la forêt d'Angkor, c'est la meilleure idée de vous faufiler à l'intérieur en Vespa ! Et vous pouvez toujours profiter du coucher de soleil et rester en sécurité grâce au guide. Nous avons vraiment apprécié ! Merci !

Style Angkor VIP. Magnifique journée en compagnie de Bénédicte qui nous a emmenés hors des sentiers battus, à la découverte des trésors d'Angkor, loin des foules de touristes. Départ de notre maison en jeep d'époque. Lingettes rafraîchissantes parfumées à l'eau de jasmin. Temples à la fois splendides et isolés. Petits sentiers dans la jungle. Portes dérobées. Quelques mystères révélés grâce à sa connaissance détaillée des sites et de leur histoire. Déjeuner exquis à la maison. Une escapade indispensable et incontournable.
Excellente journée Vraiment une excursion fantastique en Vespa - un grand merci à nos trois guides qui nous ont fait nous sentir en sécurité et ont très bien pris soin de nous. Ils nous ont emmenés voir les rats détecteurs de mines (visite brillante) ce qui était inattendu, ainsi que le lac et le déjeuner. Vraiment une super journée.
Siem Reap Vespa Notre guide en Vespa a été spectaculaire. Son anglais était excellent. Il connaissait bien la ville et sa culture. Il a répondu à toutes nos questions, y compris en nous donnant des recommandations de restaurants pour d'autres sites à voir dans le pays, et a même répondu à quelques questions sur Angkor Wat que nous avions oublié de poser. Nos conducteurs ont été prudents. Nous avons également fait un tour en Vespa avec la même qualité remarquable à Hanoï.

Une façon incroyable de voir la campagne cambodgienne en dehors de Siem Reap. Ma sœur, ma nièce et moi avons passé un moment merveilleux lors du tour Siem Reap Vespa Adventures. C'était intéressant de sortir dans la campagne, de voir les choses à la " locale ", en visitant un temple bouddhiste et en découvrant la vie au marché. Le déjeuner que nous avons eu dans une maison locale était tout simplement incroyable, et je le dis en tant vraie gastronome ! Mon chauffeur était Tut, qui parlait un excellent anglais, et toute l'équipe des guides était très professionnelle. Nous nous sommes tous sentis très en sécurité et pris en charge, menant toujours avec la devise " la sécurité d'abord " en portant des casques. Je recommande vivement cette excursion ! It is the longest day of the two. Temples from your 7 to 9 AM start until about 2:30 PM, then the food tour from 6 PM to 10 PM. The gap in the middle is free and most guests sleep or swim through it. If you would rather not, we can move the food tour to the second evening instead.
The 3-day pass at $62. Two of the three activities are inside the park, Angkor Wat on day one and Banteay Srei on day two, and there is no 2-day pass. The food tour is in town and needs no pass at all.
No. The 3-day pass covers any 3 days within a 7-day window and this combo only uses two of them, so you can leave a rest day between. Tell us your preferred dates when you book.
About an hour north of Siem Reap by Jeep. That distance is exactly why most one-day tours leave it out, and why we give it a whole day rather than squeezing it onto the end of a temple circuit.
Yes, with a valid international driving licence. Your guide rides with you and your driver takes over whenever you have had enough. Day one is a Vespa or Jeep with a driver, and the food tour is always driven.
A sit-down Khmer lunch on both temple days with drinks, and on the food tour everything you eat and drink including alcohol. Breakfasts are your own, and so is dinner on day two.

Everything still runs. We carry poncho-style raincoats and the Jeep has a roof. If the rain is heavy on the food-tour evening we swap the Vespas for a Jeep. Cambodian rain usually arrives hard in the afternoon and passes.
